Shri Arjun Munda, President of Archery Association of India and Union Tribal Minister, today launched the ‘Online Affiliation Portal’ on the virtual platform in the presence of Presidents, Secretaries of Member State Archery Associations, Executive Committee Members, Archers, Coaches, Technical Officials, Officials etc.
Creating such a Portal was one of the conditions of the World Archery to lift the suspension imposed on the Archery Association of India. An amendment to this effect was made in the constitution of Archery Association of India by the General Council in its meeting on 22nd February, 2020.
On this occasion, Arjun Munda said that a new chapter has been added to the history of the Archery Association of India with a launch of this portal which is a result of untiring efforts of the AAI team. Through this portal, Archers, Coaches, Officials who wish to participate in Championships, Games, International and National Tournaments, which are recognized or controlled by World Archery or Archery Association of India or its Member State Archery Association would be able to seek affiliation with the AAI. The Applicant can download digital Affiliation Card which will require to be carried while attending the National Archery Championships and other Archery activities.
Describing the importance of the Online Affiliation Portal, Shri Pramod Chandurkar, Secretary-General and Shri Rajendra Singh Tomar, Treasurer stated that this portal will be very useful in controlling the age fraud or over-age participation. Compliance of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports’ guidelines to issue Identity Cards to each athlete will also be covered under the portal. The Association would be able to conduct any domestic events with the help of collected data. A paperless entry of participants during domestic events is also one of the advantages.
